Applying to SSST

The process of application for admission into the undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the SSST Departments is administered by the Admissions Department of the Registry Office. Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina and international students alike are admitted on a competitive basis according to individual merit, as determined by the University.

SSST University has a selective application process that includes consideration of past academic performance and references, entrance examinations (undergraduate studies), and an interview process.


The following is a short guide intended to assist applicants through the application process for the Undergraduate Programmes offered by the SSST.

In addition, please review the Entrance Exams Samples provided to help candidates prepare and review the indicated lessons in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, English and German Language.
 

Prospective students applying for Medicine and Dentistry are required to sit the entrance exams in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English Language. 

  

Prospective students applying for Pharmacy are required to sit the entrance exams in Chemistry and English Language.


Prospective students applying for the Computer Science, Information Systems or Economics Major, are required to sit the entrance exams in Mathematics and English Language.

Prospective students applying for the Game Development and Design Major, are required to sit the entrance exams in Mathematics and English Language, and submit a synopsis of an idea for an original video game and a storyboard. 


Prospective students applying for the Political Science and International Relations or English Language Major, are required to sit the entrance exam in English Language only.


Prospective students applying for the German Language Major are required to sit the entrance exam in German Language only.


All SSST applicants, for any Degree Programme, are required to submit the completed Application Form for Undergraduate Studies /  Application Form for Medical Studies and all additional materials requested by this document – most notably the original high school grade transcripts and diploma. These additional documents must be submitted together with the Application Form to the SSST Registry Office.


The requirements for the Sarajevo Film Academy applicants and a specialized application form can be found at SFA Admissions.

 

Incomplete Applications will not be processed. If you encounter any problems with completing the Application Form or compiling the required documentation, please contact the Registry Office.


Entrance Exams results are sent to the prospective students, by email, within 5 days following their taking of the Entrance Exams.


Late and Transfer applications are considered on case-to-case basis and reviewed by the Administration Office and the Dean of the relevant department. Late applicants are instructed to contact the SSST Registry Office for information on how to apply.

 

Students seeking to transfer to SSST from other universities, to any Degree Programme, are required to submit the completed Application Form for Transfer Students and all additional materials requested by this document – most notably the grade transcript from the current university and syllabi of the passed courses.


These additional documents must be submitted together with the Application Form to the SSST Registry Office.


The following is a short guide intended to assist applicants through the admissions application process for the Graduate Programmes offered by the SSST.

 

All applicants, for all Graduate Programmes, are required to submit the completed Application Form and all additional materials requested by this document to the SSST Registry Office. Candidates advancing to the interview stage of the selection process will receive a timely notification.


Applicants for the master level programmes are required to submit, along with the Application Form, the scanned grade transcripts (diploma supplement) and diploma from their undergraduate studies, motivation letter (signed) and an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
 

PhD candidates are required to submit, along with the Application Form, an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a full list of publications, two academic references, motivation letter (signed) scanned grade transcripts (diploma supplements) and diplomas from their undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as well as and a short overview (framework proposal) outlining the candidate’s research interest.

A call for applications for graduate studies at SSST is issued at the beginning of Spring semester (please consult SSST Academic Calendar).


The selection process for graduate programme candidates is competitive and conditions for enrollment include notable past academic record (Undergraduate and Master’s studies), fluency in English (written and spoken), as well as a strong letter of motivation.

 

The rating and references of the candidate’s former institutions of higher education, from which he/she has obtained previous degrees, as well as candidate’s work experience, are considered in the selection process.

Candidates advancing to the interview stage of the selection process will receive a timely notification.
