An official meeting between the newly-appointed Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović, and the president of the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), Academician Ejup Ganić, was held today at the University SSST. This is one of the first visits to private as well as state universities by the newly-elected Minister, with the aim of establishing the basis of good cooperation, and becoming acquainted with the results achieved so far and their work plans.
Academician Ganić presented the University SSST, its program capacities, scientific-research potential and its exceptional willingness to cooperate with the Ministry in the future on a series of projects. The ideas and projects discusses were the coming drafting of the law on higher education, initialization of a scientific and academic summit where research professors coming from various universities, including those from the diaspora, will have a chance to exchange contacts and strengthen their network of associates, to revive student interaction and networking through joint student activities, etc. Academician Ganić praised the Minister’ initiative in making official visits to institutions of higher education, and expressed the desire to establish cooperation in a similar tone. Minister Husić-Mehmedović promised a greater involvement of the Ministry as well as advocating for the development of a stronger cooperation network at the university level.
The meeting was adjourned with the exchange of contacts and planning of future meetings, and mutual satisfaction with the conclusions.
